Stories Archive: Monday 1-18-10@ 3:00 PM Guppies beach conditions this morning
  Guppies fishing reportHi Guys.
We took a ride to Island Beach State Park about 10:30 Am this morning.
The water was up to the dunes, not drivable nor fishable, rough water and big waves.
We thougt it being a half way decent day it might be worth wetting a few lines, not so, We had to back of area 23, there was no room at all on the beach to turn around..

We then took aride to SeaSide Park by Funtown Pier, I walked out to the end took a few pictures and a few videos It was the same rough seas and big waves in the Park, one issue different, at least there was a good amount of beach to walk in on. real mean looking.
I just wanted to up date the beach and ocean conditions.
I was told by a few anglers that we had herring in the surf early last week, I am sure they are still aound, for what ever this is worth.
If I have time I'll post a few pictures and one video later on this eveving.
I hope all is well, safe and happy.

  Guppies fishing report

Hi Guys.

I am so happy Don did a great job on doing daily reports while I was recovering from a bad flu then pneumonia.

I was sick for a  week before I went to the Doctors, thought it was just a cold .

Any way, I am back and stating to feel a little better.

Today the ocean was once again up to the dunes, unfishable this morning, not holding with a 10 oz sinker, lucky it was not a Nor Eastern.

Big waves, Don said at least 6-8 feet.

Beach is un drivable at high tide.

The wind did die down hopefully the ocean will settle down, boy what what a difference a day can make., mother nature had our ocean calm and like a lake yesterday morning, today it's mean and wild, roaring like a lion.

I do have a few pictures I took in a few days I'll up load them.

I don't think it's worth going out tonight, maybe in the morning ?or early after noon once the tide drops.>br> I am sure this good Bass fishing is far from being over.

To All.

This has nothing to do with a fishing report, but I went through holy hell three weeks, my sister warned me over and over to go to the doctors.

I had all the Systems of pneumonia.

Please what your loved one's and you self, do not take for granted it's just a simple cold or flu.

I am posting this cause I care about you all.

Signs and Symptoms

Symptoms of pneumonia vary, depending on the age of the child and the cause of the pneumonia. Common symptoms include:

  • fever
  • chills
  • cough
  • unusually rapid breathing
  • breathing with grunting or wheezing sounds
  • labored breathing that makes a child's rib muscles retract (when muscles under the rib cage or between ribs draw inward with each breath)
  • vomiting
  • chest pain
  • abdominal pain
  • decreased activity
  • loss of appetite (
  • in extreme cases, bluish or gray color of the lips and fingernails

Sometimes a child's only symptom is rapid breathing. Sometimes when the pneumonia is in the lower part of the lungs near the abdomen, there may be no breathing problems, but there may be fever and abdominal pain or vomiting.

When pneumonia is caused by bacteria, an infected child usually becomes sick relatively quickly and experiences the sudden onset of high fever and unusually rapid breathing. When pneumonia is caused by viruses, symptoms tend to appear more gradually and are often less severe than in bacterial pneumonia. Wheezing may be more common in viral pneumonia.

I had all these Signs and Symptoms but was to sick to relate to the problem, tis the season for this

The best of luck to all.

  Guppies fishing reportHi Guys .
We fished IBSP south of area 7 from 9 AM- about 5:30 PM, we had a total of about 30 short stripers and all relesed.

Not another angler around till we started catching fish, lucky enough a few anglers stopped and fished by us, Don , Timmy and Dan Rumianowski, all caught a keeper striper just after the sun went down.
All fish were caught on clams.

We did not see many anglers fishing at low tide, most of the morning anglers left the beach that's when we caught most of the fish, Low Tide and the in comming tide.
This morning between 9 AM - about 11 AM we caught three stripers.

Dan Rumianowski, Bass 35 14.9lbs Grumpy Clam
Mr Guppie, Bass 30.5 8.9lbs Clam
Day, Timmy Bass 32.5 12.1lbs Clam
all stripers were caught about 15 minutes apart.
All three fish were weighed in at Grumpys tonight .
As soon as it got dark we left the fish bitting.
Holding with a 8-10 oz sinker, currents picked up. Good Luck To All.

Guppies fishing report Hi Guys .

Today it was absolutely gorgeous on the beach I had shorts on.

Holding easy with a 8 oz sinker, the ocean had cleaned up lots ,but lots of logs and garbage in the water yet, not much of a current at all.

Only area 23 south was open at Island Beach State Park.

I was told at Gillikins and area 7 access to the beach is closed due to a big drop at the exit on to the beach.

We did loose much of the dunes.

The sand was like driving on a pavement road.

I did see a few shorts caught on clams from area 23 south and a few 23 north.

keepers were caught this morning at A-21 at Island Beach State Park in the back of the bay, nothing in the inlet from the beach was caught.

Seaside Park is a mess, most exits to the beaches were just mountains of sand.

It looks as if we had a giant snow storm, which we all know was a sand storm.

With all the problems we have with our dunes some people were sitting on the Dunes, walking on them, this should not be allowed.

We had more then enough beach at low tide, big enough for a three ring circus.

Actually the beach it self was extremely clean except for by the dunes, lots of garbage  in that area..a few bundles of line , netting and wire were in three areas south of 23

We did lose lots of the dunes, I mean lots .

In my opinion I think the striper fishing will turn on tomorrow, most might be on clams, but fishing lures and metal would be possible it will happen, we did not have a strong current as I thought it was going to be .

Be careful tomorrow while fishing, as I said there are many of logs washing around in the wash, you would not want to get hit with one.

Hope this report will encourage some who can fish tomorrow to get out there.

Remember area 21  on the bay side at Island Beach had some nice bass fishing this morning.

Good Luck To All And Good Night.

Hi guys.

 The ocean

 is still not fishable.

 High water, dirty, bad currents.

it is a good time to clean your reels, check your lines out for week spots.

Get your rods and make sure they are all in good shape.

What most of you bait guys should have done was buy as many clams and salted them as we did, lets face it the boats will not be going out for a .days, as soon as this wind stops we'll have fish but most likely no clams.

I just spoke to ray at Grumpy's he still has some clams, please get out and buy a few dozen and salt them up just in case ?? be prepared, .face The clam boats won't be out most likely today and tomorrow, Sundays they do not go out at all, soooo if the east wind slow down most likely they might go out Monday.

Don and Caught all our Stripers on three - 4 day old salted clams this week, I my self caught 2 30" stripers.

I took a picture of 175 clams I have salted and kept cold.

I'll be going there some time today to buy 3 or 4 more dozen.

These clams are a week old.

Hope this help you all out who are planning on going out tomorrow ans Sunday , please take this advice for those who like to fish bait, and don't forget when we were fishing atrificial, we used big guys teasers, yellow and black , yellow, white with a little yellow, every bass Tuesday was a double header in the morning before sun up, at one point Don hooked two 27" stripers a double header on a big guys teaser and a #17 ava, thought he had a monster fish, that day is coming soon?
Evey anglers wish is to hook a big juicy stripper.
The Best Of Luck To All.
