Stories Archive: Ragging out & blowing off steam
 messages from GuppieWilson writes>
What about the surfers I never see any rods out or the family that bought a Spider-Man fishing rod and thats there equipment for 5 people but the anglers who are there week in and week out they harass. Yes, I agree safety equipment is important but they dont have to be nasty in doing there job.
AS far as you and the bait and tackle shops put in your time put in your time guess what at $ 100.00 to fill my f150 and have a 120 mile round trip ride, there is alot less rides.
I appreciate your reports but they are usually after the fact so they really do me no good if you have a great afternoon fishing and report it that night I get it the next day.
I guess I'm just blowing off steam but some off us anglers are not 15 minutes from the beach. So stop telling us to put in our time its TOO EXPENSIVE

Wilson,

I agree , I do my best, at times I stay home just to get reports on my web.
I guess you are just blowing off steam , why at me ?
I have a part time job to help pay for my web up keeping and my gas money, both Don & I put in hours running it , maybe you can get a small part time job if you really want to fish, BTW, IBSP is not the only place in the world you can fish, I am sure there are other places you can and you do fish.

It's not my fault that you live so far away.
I put in my time just riding on the beach looking for information.
So what your saying is that I should stop saying put in your time ?
even if you get E-mail that the fish are busting this minute all over which at times I do on my web, by the time you get to this area it'll be over, so there for, you have to be there as well, I can lead you to the fish to the best of my ability, but I never had a crystal ball to let you know hey these fish will be here tomorrow morning at 9 AM .

If I had that ability I'd be rich .
I have never met a nasty Ranger or park police yet.
This is a free web to help, I spend much money on gas and maintenance to keep up reports on this site.
I am glad you read my reports but Chill out a little, loosen up on me I am one person and don't like being ragged on, sorry if you had a nasty ranger, the way your talking seems like you had a problem with one, $hit happens, it is what it is ..

Stories Archive: Island Beach Check Point Today! Sunday 7-6-08 @ 6:120 PM
messages from GuppieHi Guys & Gals.
First of all I want to thank you John, My web master for getting this information out to all.
we got snagged for the board and the fire Fire Extinguisher, We had to leave and go to the old Grumps for both items.
I have been told they gave summons out last month to anglers right on the beach which is a $75.00 fine, the rules are the rules, which I have to say I did have 5 Fire Extinguishers in the past 30 years never had to use one yet, they rusted , I don't feel safe having one in my truck with the heat at times., a board, We had the same board for 25 years a 8x 16 which no one ever questioned, we helped many anglers who were stuck with this board, with out any problems, and will continue to keep it in my truck along with the piece of crappy 12x 12 ply wood they want you to have, they are being very stern with these regulations because a few trucks and campers I was told did not indeed have a spare tire.
And remember no grills going by the inlet now, they inforced this as well,

I'll do a quick report after dinner .
Guppie

Again John Thank you for the post and for all your support .

Just got a phone call from Guppy who asked me to warn everyone that they have set up a check point over at Island Beach State Park and are checking everyone driving on the beach to see if they have the required safety equipment on board. Don't expect to just get a warning either as they are giving out plenty of summonses.
The following eleven (11) items are MANDATORY in order to drive a 4 X 4 on the beach:

1. Fishing Equipment (rod & reel), Tackle/Bait for each person over the age of 12!
2. Tire Pressure Gauge
3. Full size Spare Tire
4. Workable Jack plus a support board (3/4" x 12" x 12" minimum)
5. Tow Chain or Snatch Line
6. Shovel (Not a plastic toy beach shovel)
7. Flashlight
8. Fire Extinguisher
9. Auto First Aid Kit
10. Litter/Trash Bag (IBSP is Carry In/Carry Out)
11. Minimum of 1/4's tank of Fuel.

By the way, I should mention my name is John and I have working behind scenes with Guppy for the last year on two maintaining the server that hosts this website. Personally I'd rather be the one on the beach fishing, but that's life...

Hi Guys & Gals.
The program I am using does not take long videos, so I have been working on google for the long videos I took in the past for all to view, I have plenty more good ones to post on this google site.
We took a ride to Seaside Park and looked around Seaside Heights as well, very few bathers were out as well as no anglers, We did not see any activity from the surf at all. Good Luck

2008 N J Recreational Minimun size, Possecssion, limits and Seasons
messages from Guppieclick here---->2008 fishing regulations

For those who are new at salt water fishing, just a reminder, cleaning or filleting fish with a mininum size while at sea or on the beach is prohibited.
The size of the fillet must be the same size of the size limit.

  Stories Archive: IBSP DEP report.
messages from GuppieHi Guys & Gals.
No need to panic, so far I was told that it was some kind of algea..
No one could have said for sure what it was till the DEP got involved
People complain about gas prices, rumors that Island Beach is going to close down , but yet no one does any thing to find out what the real truth is or not, instead some forums will go on and on and just sit playing with their key boards.
This issue is dropped on this site as of now, any one can call the hot line number I posted to find out the results.
At least we all have a piece of mind now
I’ll tell you one thing I would have never drove in that black mess, but striper consulting did , just to prove what He witness and thought it might have been, if He did see it and did nothing there would be plenty of angers and people asking why he did not report it , it’s just life , it is what it is.
Good Night all.
