Guppie's NJ Fishing Web

Started out at Grumpys, got two dozen clams. Hit Gillikins at first light. Between two fish and a lot of crabs I was out of bait by 8 am. Ran back to Grumpys for more clams and got back to the beach. Got a few more shorts but then the bluefish came in and I started throwing an Ava, got two before they left. Moved down the beach, more shorts but did get a 31 incher.
I heard they had bunker and bass at the pocket and jetty this morning so I took a ride down there. There were bunker running around in the wash and the few people that were there were getting bluefish and bass. I only got 2 bluefish, one was 12 pounds. I had to leave the beach with the fish still biting.
If you're going to fish with clams make sure you have enough, the crabs are voracious. And you can always salt and freeze any you don't use for when there are none available. Don
