HI Guys & Gals.
We fished Island Beach State Park from 10 AM - 4:30 PM, started fishing area 17, fished for an hour or so with a two other great anglers, Not a hit, we left headed to towards area 23, fished for about another hour, notta, ended up by the North Jetty, lots of anglers fishing the Jetty about 12 Pm, I did not see any Stripers being caught at that time BUT, There were a good amount of stripers caught earlier on the North Jetty, 7 or more keepers made it off the Jetty,Most were released from what I was told by many anglers who witnesed this ,after about 11:30 AM the fishing from the North Jetty turned off.
I was told by reliable anglers a few stripers were caught in the pocket as well as area of 23 & North of aera 23 from about 7 AM till about10 AM.
South of area 23 & by the Jetty had many anglers hoping to hook a keeper, the ratio about 1Keeper for about every 20 that were caught.
Ryan & His cousin 12 year old Justin fished the beach ib Seaside Park , hooked 5 Stripers with little Justin that was so proud hooking a nice 29" striper on a Grumpys Clam.
Again considering the amount of anglers that were out fishing today this was not a lot of fish, just tells me the Striper fishing is starting to pick up.
We dicided to get out and fish North of the bathing beach, In the area where we fished Timmy, Ryan, Justin, Poppy, his wife, Don & I and a few other anglers fishing I would say about 15 of us fished bait from 1 PM - 4:40 Pm, all together Three stripers were caught, Don & I hooked a short His were 27" my striper was 24 3/4" both released, one other angler hooked a 28" striper.
That was about 25 Poles in that area we fished and only three fish caught .
It was gorgeous out, drizzled a little about 10 AM, then we had sun and clouds, using a 6 oz sinker till about 4 PM, all the sudden the wind switched to a south east , picked up a little, We could not hold with a 8 oz sinker, the weed started to come in, it got a bit chilly and the rain started, We left.
All & All, We all were happy just to be able to enjoy a nice day fishing.
Maybe Tomorrow it'll get better?
The Best Of Luck To All.
Guppie & Don.
I'll post pictures in a little while.
