Hi Guys & Gals.
A light easterly breeze brings fish to the surf, if the surf is to rough try fishing the bay side with light tackle.
This time of the year surf fishing is most likely to be at it’s best early in the morning, dusk, or after dark.
At times we all have the problem with the crabs eating our bait, when this happens go to a single, surf- floater rig, This keeps your bait off the bottom.

If you have a big fish on, use your drag, let the fish swim, tire it out let the waves help you bring the fish to the beach. Many fish are lost right in the wash as the excited angler either tightens their drags, cranks too hard when the wave is retreating, bring the fish in with the waves, don’t crank against the waves and take your time.
Just a few things to mention. And to remember for all you new anglers.

I would use between 15lb test and 20 lb test line, any thing heavier is a total waste, just my opinion.

Fish with two rods if using bait, one close in to the suds and one further out.
Island heights have been producing some stripers on blood worms and gulp worms.
fishing by out local bridges have been producing some stripers as well, Most shorts so far.

I have been getting I formation from reliable anglers and will continue to do my reports as always.
it’s a shame that anglers can not fish for black fish, half the flounder and fluke season was taken away from us, We now mainly have stripers and bluefish with no closed season so far and I want each and every one to enjoy fishing for these fish.
Right now the bays, creeks, sod banks, rivers are hot for stripers and flounder fishing.
get out this weekend and start enjoying the fishing, it’s a matter of time when all hell will break loose.

You need to put some time in.
As We all know the gas prices are high $3.00 a gal, We will get out as much as possible, but with these prices we’ll have to slack off a little, we all have to depend on one another for reports, give and take to get an accurate report.
Just remember stripers are on the move now.

The Best of Luck To All & Please Stay Happy & Healthy
Guppie & Don.
