I was a bit upset all night, today I stayed in my truck I had heart burn so bad it was gagging me, my tummy was a mess, I was told by several anglers that the Bass report was not true Last night by the North Jetty in the pocket, , Well I’ll be darned, it turned out it was indeed the truth, My reports mean so much to me , this is what happened yesterday.
Bluefish started to hit by the pocket @ Island Beach yesterday about?, every angler except about a doz did not chase the Blues, they chose to hang out by the pocket and on the North Jetty till about after dark. As soon as the blues moved north, the stripers were right behind them on the next pod of peanut Bunker, while the bait chasers were chasing the blues up the beach which was between area 23 – half from the North Jetty, all the late anglers entering IBSP area 23 stopped and joined the bait chasers which were on to some heavy blue fishing,
Indeed I spoke to several anglers who either were at the Jetty, on the Jetty or some of their friends bragged about all the stripers that were caught by the North Jetty, when I hear of a conflict on a report I’ll always check it out and get the right story, I do have connections.
Today it was kind of quiet, lots of birds working, lots of bait beyond reach, some big schools of corn cob mullet came in close, one angler had netted a half bucket, one throw he had about 30 corn cobs.
We drove from the Inlet all the way to area 4, in the process of the day 4 cocktail blues were caught, one huge skate by Timmy, one sand shark by Sand Spike Bill, one large croaker just after dark by Don, three cock tail blues by bob McGinely.
The beach was kind of empty from area 23 going North to area 4, most anglers fished south of area 23 where the bait was.
Maybe tomorrow we'll have good action I hope.
I was told that Sandy Hook had great action today, lots of fish and bait moving south.
That's why I must be on the beach to get a accurate and reliable report, Hear say at times is not good enough for me.
With the gas going up I have to slack off a bit.
