  Guppies fishing report

Hi Guys.

We just got home from Island Beach State park a short time ago.

Drove on to Gillikins about 8:30 am notta, I spoke to a good number of anglers who did nothing and have been fishing from 7 AM.

We drove out of Gillikins after seeing nothing going on, drove to the North Jetty, Nothing happening.

Drove all the way back from the inlet to area 7, plugged a few areas, nothing, We did see big schools of bunker a far distance out, way beyond casting range, a few times these bunker came in close with small blues chasing them, I would say maybe about 10 bluefish on the whole Island and a few anglers snagged a few bunker all because they went out as fast as the fish came in.

I was told, now hear say only one big Striper was caught at Island Beach state park about 6 am, word on the beach all hear say it was a 50 lber?

We drove back out of area 7 back to Gillikins about 1 PM all because Paco and a few anglers said that bunker were  in close doing a lot of flip flops which was true but only way beyond reach???

Most of the fish that have been caught are  being caught a few at seaside Heights but much better farther north.

If you want a honest report here it is.

Holding with a 5-6 oz sinker, sun and clouds no rain.

This is the best I can do, as long as the fish are north of Island Beach state Park, they have a better chance of being here next season cause I will not go chasing bunker along the shore line.

Just remember one thing, especially the anglers in fishing tournaments, they will not tell the truth as to where the striper was caught.

Bait shops get reports from anglers giving some information, some lie some are reliable, at time by the time the tackle shop puts it on line the fish are gone, Stripers can go out as fast as they come in.

Last year a few anglers were Pi....t at me because I gave a report, at the time the stripers were being caught by the time these anglers got to where the fish were it was over???

If you really want to catch fish you have to put the time in, be at the place at the right time.

Fishing is very spotty along the shore line only the angler who weighs a fish in for the most part will know where that fish was caught.

Don't blame a tackle shops for giving a false report, for either the angler giving the report called it in after the fishing was over or it was not exactly where that angler was, I know I witnessed anglers doing this.

An angler fishing every day spending time & gas money finding the fish has all the right not to say where the fish were caught, He's better off saying nothing.

I know as a fact that most of the big fish caught are being caught north of Island Beach.

The Inlet at Island Beach state Park had about three blue fish caught all morning, a few big sea turtles were seen, a short fluke.

I feel we will have some good action soon , when it's all up to mother nature, being at the right place right time or putting time in to your fishing when you can.

What ever happenes or happened after 3 PM we were not there,

Let see did I leave something out???????The Best Of Luck To All.
