Hi guys & Gals.
We headed out to Island Beach State park about 12:30 OM yesterday afternoon,
as we pulled to on to the main gate they said the beach access to beach buggy's
were closed, as we got to Gillikins, area 7 and the paved road
Trucks were driving in and driving out.
We drove in to area 23 the beach was loaded with beach buggy's.
It was about 2 hours in to the out going tide, the beach was fine to drive
on.
You can see the water level was a little pass the dunes at high tide in
most areas, so We did have beach erosion at high tide.
Don and many anglers fished the inlet. Don caught and released two short
fluke on a big gulp, I did se a few other short fluke caught along with 2-or
three cock tail blues about 1/2 lb, a good number of sea bass we caught as well.
The currents were strong, the flies were bad.
As the tide went out it did seem fishable and the ocean did calm down
as far as the waves.
While driving back out of Island Beach State Park which was about 4 PM, with
plenty of beach to enjoy, many and I mean many sun bathers and surfers
decided to camp out on the dunes, from the inlet to area 7 I counted at lease 50
people with blankets, chairs and grills on the dunes, Boy what ever happened
with save the dunes, the beach buggy anglers spent many hours planting this
grass, no one seemed to bother these morons camping out on the dunes?? Oh well
it is what it is .
Good Luck. Guppie & Don
