Hi Guys & Gals. We fished the North End of Island Beach State park all day from10 AM- till 6 PM. We all had Stripers on clams, Poppy Bill hooked a 31" striper, a few other anglers as well caught keepers, all fish were between 26"-31".
I did get calls that good striper fishing was going on south of area 15 early this afternoon, some keepers from what I was told, Anglers are telling me that needle fish are producing good, I was told this by three different anglers who don't know one another. We did not go to this area because we just wanted to relax and call it a slugish day.
Again on the Tip of the north Jetty short stripers were caught, from what I was told you can see these fish just swimming around, all were shorts. A few bluefish were caught as well.
For the most part stripers were being caught in scattered areas, it did not matter if you wanted to soak clams of plug, you just needed to put the time in if you can. I did see anglers come and fish for a short time in one area, no one was doing a thing, with in minutes after He left the stripers started to hit again. It was just another gorgeous day today. The Bass are here you just have to work a bit harder to catch them.
The tides and the time of day catching Stripers today did not matter, it was a on and off catch in scattered areas.
The best I can do for now . Good Luck To All. Guppie & Don.
