Thursday Night: Rain. Low around 60. Windy, with a east wind between 20 and 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Hi Guys & Gals
No one can predict what the wind is going to do, it all depends on this off shore storm of the Carolinas, it can change??
But for now you be your own guide, I have seen 5 people fall in the ocean with this strong currents we have, Today a man and His wife were fishing the pocket, ankel deep, the lady got knocked over, Glitter Plug Ron Called over to Don he was the closest to this gal, got her up, another angler went to cast out in water below his knee, He as well went down and under, the waves washed in enough to get out of the water.
You must be extremely careful fishing the next few days, respect this ocean, mother nature looks real mean and is mean today.
The wind started to pick up, the ocean is really turning, big waves, strong currents, not holding with a 10 oz sinker late this afternoon..
I was told that early this morning some blues and short Bass were being caught on the North jetty, no doubt in my mind about this , if you try going out on the Jetty your going to take a beating, please be carefull. The only fish I did see caught today from 12 PM - about 4:30 PM was one keeper striper on the North Jetty, this anglers took a beating, after 1 PM just about every one left the Jetty, it was not fishable at all. Area 23 south at high tide was just about driveable, the water was up to the grass in some areas Please donot let your children go fishing tonight and tomorrow if this wind and rough seas continue, it takes a minutes if your not watching them.
Try fishing the back bays, I was told that blues and some Bass were back there, at times when the ocean turns like this, these fish will turn to the bays???
I knocked my leg on the milk creat you see.
If this weather gets worst I would not be surprised if the south end of IBSP will be closed at high tide..
It's impossible to net mullet with this N-East wind, casting in to the wind is not a great idea when it's blowing this hard. I will keep you all posted. As always when the going gets good Mother nature messes it up. We'll have many more good fishing days, donot risk your life . The Best Of Luck To All. Guppie & Don.
I did this report because I care about each and every one of you guys & gals.
