Hi Guys & Gals. We drove to Gillikins nothing going on, spoke to one angler who was out there from 10 AM to 4 PM , he said a few small snappers came through, drove on to area 7 to the North Jetty, very few anglers were out, to be honest the flies were terrible, spoke to 2 anglers who did nothing . We drove to the Inlet hung around with a few fellow anglers, fished the inlet nothing, from what I was told by Doug and Mike were there from early this morning till we left, Mike hooked on black fish 14" and released it earlier, He hooked a 15" black fish while we ere there and gave it to me for my table. We were getting ready to leave about 7 Pm, we spotted some fish busting water beyond reach, saw some small bait in the wash for a few minutes, stayed till about 7:45 plugged the pocket, some birds were working , again beyond reach with fish busting in them, notta. Headed back out drove out to area 7, spoke to a few more anglers all said the only thing that was biting were the flies. Between Gillikins and the Inlet I counted 15 trucks on the whole beach One more thing I almost forgot to mention, between area 7 & 8 about 7:45 PM there was a huge school of bunker, looked like peanut bunker to me and Don in casting distance, one angler was plugging right in to the bait was not getting any thing, it did not seem like any fish were in this school except one dolphin.
In a way it was a total waste of time and gas for us , but at least I found out what was going on so I can pass what I saw on The flies were not that bad by the Inlet.
So don't feel bad no one missed any thing.
I was told different stories about the fishing north of here, some say it was bull, some said the fish were beyond reach, one anglers said there was indeed some good bluefish action., Win a few lose a few LOL, The best of luck to all. Guppie
