Hi Guys & Gals. Today I had to wait for reports, what I have been told by our dear friend and along time member of Guppies web site Card shop and his two fishing buddies, John & Timmy fished Gillikins for a few hours early this afternoon with out any luck, at high tide I was told there is not that much beach area to fish. They decided to move and try area 7 from about 5 PM till just before dark, they were using bunker chunks on a high low rig and clams, saw few short stripers caught. Card shop hooked a few decent size bluefish on bunker chunks.. Another fishing buddy of ours fished Gillikins a good part of this afternoon with out any luck at all, Charlie and his wife manage to hook a skate and tangled in a with a mass of mussels which He has to cut his line .
It seems like the Nor-Eastern broke up some mussel beds, The ocean was not yet clean as were are all hoping for. Second hand information was at low tide s few stripers were caught on either the north Jetty or south of area 23, like I said This is second hand information. I was told some anglers hit the back bayside and hooked up with a few decent stripers. Ocean Temp was 53 degrees today .
As the tide went out today you had to kind of wade the bars to get to deeper water, as the tide came in you has less beach area. Overnight: A slight chance of sprinkles. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. South wind around 8 mph
I hope this report will be of some help.
Thursday: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Southwest wind around 8 mph The West wind should help clean up the ocean for tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow or Friday we’ll catch a few hours of fishing, check the beach out . Good Luck To All. Guppie & Don.
