Hi Guys & Gals. At times I just don't understand the fishing regulations. Every time I watch this video I feel Like vomiting.
Sad to say its legal as far as the law is concerned in NC.
Two of our local anglers fishing these three days when this was going on saw many stripers floating dead in the ocean,
They claimed it killed the anglers fishing trip that week, not a striper to be caught on hook line and sinker.
I believe the limit is 300 lbs per day and runs for three solid days, any thing more then 300 lbs has to get released and the one's they release 99% die. From what I read, NC is going to put an end to this, permits were handed out years ago ,no more permits will be issued. Permits to do this can not be passed on to another Netter, from what I read and was told, I may be wrong, but hope this is true.
We work hard here in NJ to catch keepers. Speaking of striper fishing, it'll cost you $2.00 for a bonus tag ,for every fish, when you hand in your tag, it'll cost another $2.00 to replace the bonus tag, there is a quota , once they run out of tags no more will be issued, any one who pays for this bonus tag better think twice, IMHO it's not worth it , heck how many anglers caught more then two keepers day last year?
IMO it's just another way to make money on us anglers in N J .
.
heck taking home one keeper striper a week is more then good for me. last year Don & I fished many days taking home maybe 7 keepers for the year of 2007. Three were giving away to family members and we still have a enough for two meals in my freezer which we'll have striper for dinner tonight .
