Hi Guys & Gals. For those who live by or at the Sea Bright Area I would check it out, plenty of stripers are being caught.
Last night from 9 PM – after 11 PM in Seaside Heights by Herring Ave they were spearing beaching, stripers were there but were not taking any artificial lures, you could just see them cruising back and forth in the waves, no ambitions at all, lazy, a few extra lights facing the ocean were put up you can see clearly about 15 feet in the ocean. A few stripers were caught in Seaside Heights this morning, most of our regular anglers are North of Bay Head now.. Lots of bait around all heading south, I would say it’s a matter of time when the heavy action hits our area again. A few stripers were caught at Island Beach State Park this morning in the 29-31” range on clams , so far any way From the reports I have received this morning so far it’s looking good, hopefully we’ll be at the right place at the right time. I will not chase bait today, we’ll look for a area that looks good and clam fish, If I see a bluefish blitz, I will not chase the bluefish, usually the Stripers this time of the year will be right behind the bluefish picking up the chopped up bait the blues were feasting on.
Bluefish are aggressive fish; Bass are slow moving lazy fish and smart fish. Stripers are cruisers when Bluefish are like barracudas,
Piranhas as Timmy calls them N J Piranhas, mean and aggressive, nasty fish. if I hear of any reports before we head out I will update, if not I’ll call Grumpys with an up to the minute report, not after the fact before I pick up my rod he’ll get a call. Because of the tides this week and the extremely low tides , fishing seems to be early morning or later at night when We have water, although I have seen Stripers in 2 feet of water right at my feet, Luck and being at the right place right time and putting the time seems to work great..
The Best of Luck to all.
