Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow a mystery.
Today is a gift.,br>
That's why it's called the present! We had monster blues off shore and in the suds yesterday feeding on big pods of bunker and adult bunker, no peanut s. Anglers were having a field day, like I said it’s not over, these big Blues are normally gone by the 15th of every November, as long as we are getting bluefish we all know the ocean is still warm. Yesterday big pods of bunker started in Seaside Heights by the casino fishing pier, as I spoke to Paul he stated big fish busting off shore, these fish were big bluefish, the boaters were having a great time, the bunker came over the bar for a few minutes with a few big bluefish on them, then they headed towards Fun Town Pier in Seaside Park and from there on just moved quickly south, for some reason they stopped dead from area 12 – area 18, Why?? There were big cow bluefish waiting for them, it was non stop action, hooking up did not come easy for these anglers at Island Beach fishing in the school of bunker they were throwing their bunker snagers maybe 3-4 times before they hooked a bunker then just waited till a big blue took the bait. Our member Card shop was throwing a Hopkins lure and doing just as well as the anglers throwing a bunker snagger, he hooked at least 5 big cows from what I saw all on a Hopkins lure. Now this is all history. We have a cold front coming, these fish are going to keep moving south, they can feel the low pressure coming, it’s mother nature chasing them south, I do believe today is going to be another good day, possibility we might see some nice stripers caught, but like I always say you have to be there, right time right place, and where is that ?? By the ocean, if you head out and don’t see many anglers in one area, you darn well know some thing is going on else where move till you find the bait and fish today. Paco that gives this web site lots of information sat at the bathing beach all day, hooking up with 5 short Bass, as fellow anglers passed by stopped to talk to Paco to ask how he was doing, Paco again asked if there was any action down the beach, these anglers who ever they might be, told Paco it was dead all the way to the jetty, they should be ashamed of them self. I left my phone home and couldn’t call Paco, I was offered a phone but did not have his number available, I am so sorry Paco, I owe you . Getting back to the fishing, as soon as the tide dropped, the fishing got better. Right now this minute on Herring ave in Seaside Heights big blues are all over the place with bunker on them, I’m not going to say drop every thing and get there because it can be over in this area by the time you get there, but check it out if your heading out to the Island, stay with the bunker, I’m sure we’ll have good action along the shore line today. Some keeper stripers are under the bluefish a few in between, and after the blues move the bass will pick up what the blues left behind, trust me , they will not travel along with these big cows for the most part. We'll head out again by noon and I will do an update before and when we return as always . Till then I think I covered as much as I can for now.
Always remember to forget the troubles that pass your way;
BUT NEVER forget the blessings that come each day. Take the time to live!!!
