Hi Guys & Gals. Today we decided to go fishing in spite of all the negative reports. We are trying to stay away from the north Jetty and fish in different areas, we started at Gillikins, met up with Card shop, it was one of the most gorgeous days by the ocean, the ocean was calm, cleaning up, holding with a 4 oz sinker. Charlie managed to hook a nice striper which got off in the wash, sad but the big one always seems to get away, In spite of losing he striper he continued to fish, hooking one croaker after the other all on clams, of course he was hoping for a nice fat striper, it’s always good to hope .I made a call to my great friend Lonely cowboy which was down by the pocket, bored silly, no action, very little bait in that area. , He then invited Charlie, Steve and his son Shawn, we all had croakers till after dark.. Some thing small was nibbling at out bait, I came to the conclusion it was king fish, those sneaky little devils, so bring along some king fish rigs and plenty of clams if your going to fish tomorrow. .. It was so nice to fish with a group of anglers this afternoon till dark , we all had a great time . BTW, a ton of mullet and what looked like sea herring was right in the wash from 4 PM – just before dark, if we wanted to we could have netted a ton of mullet.. The wind was a med west wind , no flies , just lots of butter flies flying around, I could not have asked for a nicer day. Lots of sea robins as well. As far as we can see other anglers as well were hooking up with croakers and sea robins, there was a good amount of anglers at Gillikins fishing which was nice to see. . I don’t know what the weather will bring tomorrow, I really don’t have to much faith with the weather channels reports, suppose to rain and be a lousy day Sunday, just keep your fingers crossed it’ll turn out like today , Maybe our dear mother nature is going to be good for a day, it is suppose to be another gorgeous day ... Good Night & Good Luck to all you great anglers out there. Please view pictures in Guppies photo Gallery .
