Started plugging at dark, only saw Jess get one short. Worked our way down the beach with no luck. Finally put out bait and about 9:30 the fish started to hit, got 5 shorts and left them biting. By then the beach had pretty much emptied.
Saw some birds working north of me, people ran over there and after a few minutes they headed south. Never saw birds move so fast over bait. Anyone doing the speed limit never caught up with them. Never found out what was under them.
BTW, yesterday afternoon we went back to fish bait, got nothing but the small bass were chasing real small bait right into the wash. Threw everything at them but couldn't buy a hit. Don
