Hey Guys.
We got to Island Beach State Park about 7 AM, not one other angler around Gillikins, the tide was going out, as soon as we rigged up and put our lines in the water the Stripers starting hitting.
As soon as it got light a good amount of anglers came in to Gillikins, some fishing clams, Bunker and using a 317 Ava with a teaser, all were hooking up. We had to leave doe we had to something personal to take care of, once Don gets back we'll be heading out.
Holding with a 8 oz sinker easy, it was raining on and off not heavy at all, as long as your dressed for the weather it was not bad at all, you all know , I hate wearing lots of clothes, notice how I am dressed.
The wind is about 15 N-East. Today was my first attempt to fish since last September and I got lucky. We do have a current , not so bad. my advise is if you can get out there and fish. remember I doubt if any clam boats will be going out today so get to your tackle shop and get your clams. I am prepared, We have about 150 clams all cleaned up and on ice just in case.
Monday no one had clams in the morning, we made sure we had two quart freezer bags just in case, again, we both had a keeper bass in two days. We are heading back out in about 1/2 hour.
Dennis D Mag hooked a 19" striper and a bunker chunks as well. I am sure other stripers were caught along the shore line, as a fact in Seaside Heights By Herring Ave where the casino Fishing Pier is Stripers were caught on clams as well.
We left while the stripers were still hitting Good Luck To All. Guppie & Don
