ISLAND BEACH STATE PARK FISHING TODAY 19/19/09
Hi Guys. Island Beach Opened the park at about 12:30 PM. We
had to kill time so we decided to stop at Betty & Nicks for
Breakfast, as always it was good. We got to The beach about
12:35 set up and with in 5 minutes Don Caught and released a 26
1/2" striper., We fished till about 2 PM in that area , We
decided to move to Gillikins. and stayed till about 7:30 PM Don
Caught 5 stripers up to one at 26 1?2 three at 27 1/2"which
all were released a 28 1/4" which we had for dinner
tonight. The ocean was brown seems like the stripers did not
mine at all.. We lost much of our dunes, as a matter of fact the
whale that was buried at area 17 was almost uncovered. We do
have a big sand bar , worst then last week. Most fish were
caught on the in coming tide all on clams. Holding with a 8 oz
sinker. The sun was out, a light N-_N West wind, as a matter of
fact I took off my warm sweat suite and sat in the sun with
shorts and a spaghetti strap top on, it was gorgeous out today.
We had a fox by the truck for two hours, just sitting watching
us, waiting for the left off in our clams that we tossed..
I called Grumpy's bait & Tackle Betty & Nicks to report
that stripers were being caught, John seems to up date if he
gets calls, I was hoping to see more anglers out fishing,
tomorrow in my opinion should be better, ( I Hope, We'll be
there .l
