Hi Guys & Gals. Yesterday morning before 10 AM there was A good amount of decent size bluefish caught in the inlet @ IBSP, early after noon it was quiet, Don Hooked a cocktail blue on a Hopkins with a bucktail. We were there 2PM till 4:15 PM nothing much as far as bluefish and Bass from area 23-the north Jetty, I was told as soon as we left the cock tail blues hit the inlet lasted for about 20 minutes.. Black fish on the North Jetty and some areas of the rocks on the inlet side could not be much better yesterday and today.
Holding with a 6-8 oz sinker earlier. Second hand information early this morning before the wind kicked up a 28-29 “ Bass was caught some where at Gillikins along with a few shorts. No rain , but dress warm if your heading to the ocean. Bluefish are indeed hitting areas in the bays, inlets along the shore line, you have to put your time in order to catch the action, there are periods where you want to fall asleep it’s so boring, then all the sudden these blues pop up. it’s strange from, what I was told in Manasquan the blues start hitting in coming tide, Here at Island Beach there is no set time for these fish to start hitting in the inlet. The Striper fishing is terrible so far, We have fished clams and lures almost every day this week only hooking up with a few shorts, Hopefully it’s going to be a late spring, hopefully these stripers won’t just pass by .
I don’t know what to tell you all, if you want weakfish action fish the flats and the back of the bay.
I was told by a good source that cock tail blues hit the crab dock by the dock Outfitter last night , Speaking of the Dark Outfitter, Many anglers asked me if I knew where Frankie the Mexican that used to cook for Jersey Joe’s went to, I just found out He now working for Tom at the Dock Out fitters, One of the cleanest and good cooks around, So those of you who want to stop by and see Frankie stop at the Dock Out fitter and grab a bite to eat. The Best Of Luck To All Guppie
