Hi Guys & Gals. It’s a bit chilly out this morning, not many anglers are out on the beach, if any one can’t figure out why, I’ll tell you, between the surf fishing being slow and the high gas prices it’s making it difficult which I understand. we’ll do our best, try to get out as much as possible, right now for me it’s not worth hitting the surf, if the weather was just 10 degrees warmer it would be worth going, till then we’ll stick to checking out the flounder and striper fishing conditions from the bay side . Speaking of this , Mantoloking , Oyster Creek has been good for both striper and flounder fishing, especially if you have access to a boat. For good information on fishing in Island Heights I would check out Murphy’s hook house bait & tackle on Rt 37 Toms River, they can indeed provide you to the latest up to the minute information. On flounder fishing. I did receive a report from Sand spike Bill who sponsors this web, his banner is on the bottom of this main page, he hooked up with 21 striper by pier 1 restaurant a few days ago, I also spoke to a few anglers who fished in a kayak in this area who also did well, Bass are most certainly moving in to the bays, this is where most fish will be spawning soon. It’s going to be a decent weekend, if your thinking about fishing , fish the docks , sod banks, bridges for both stripers & Flounder, for stripers off of docks and in the bay, try using a rattle trap lure ??? This is second hand information which at times I take with a grain of salt, I have been told that peanut bunker are starting to show up in thios area, my opinion, it's still a bit to cold ?? but Hey stranger things have been happening , I tend to think we'll see more herring around now rather then peanut bunker. This is the best I can do, we’ll all have good days & Bad days fishing this time of the year, you must try to put your time in. Good Luck to all. Guppie
