90 % of the bluefish action was on bunker chunks and some on Clams, We did see anglers hooking up with big bluefish on a high lo rig with a bunker chunk.
From what we saw the blues were ranging from 9 lbs to about 15 in my opinion, they were scattered along the whole Island.
.
In some areas bunker did come close to the wash, close enough to get some action.
I did see one decent striper caught about 27 3/8 “, from what we saw most were all shorts, I’m sure there were some keepers, we can only be at one place at a time.
We stopped right after the bathing beach because we noticed there were fish breaking in a scattered school of some kind of small bait , I would say it looked like peanut bunker, We could just about reach this bait, this school of bait was moving fast, we saw the flashes in the wave a few bluefish busted in it , we lost which direction the bait went.
So we just headed towards Gillikins till we found an area where no one was fishing .

Depending on what the weathers going to do this weekend, if the wind picks up it can blow the fish and bait out of this area

I would say tomorrow before the storm we’ll have some great action, we’ll probably head out as early as 9 AM.

Tonight & tomorrows weather ???
Tonight: A chance of showers after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. South wind between 15 and 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Friday: Showers likely, then periods of showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. High near 72. Breezy, with a south wind between 13 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 46
WOW I hope the weather predictions are way off , does not sound to promising for fishing .

As you can see, nobody works in NJ during the fall migration.
Caught 19 Bluefish to 17 pounds today (3 bite offs).
The Bass are yet to come.,br> More fun than a body should be allowed to have.
