I want you all to know when I get a submit news, this means that the person wants me to post a comment as I did this morning, I answered it to the best of my ability, I did try not to take sides although I have my own opinion on some anglers who are ruthless like this angler said, I took all names out of the submit news, no names were mentioned, every one has the right to their own opinion, some of us might not like their opinion, some might agree, well it is what it is, I am not trying to hurt any one, nor am I trying to cause any alarm or degrade any one, I posted it , it was a report about fishing @ Island Beach state Park, I did receive a e-mail from an angler which was not even involved in Jason’s and the Boys report, as a matter of fact Jason had good things to say about this one netter, I was threatened from this angler to put some old videos of me netting mullet 20 years ago LMAO , I wrote back and told him I would pay to have a copy and will indeed post it my self, it would be rather interesting.
I my self was taught by the finest Anglers, Ernie Wilbert, John Sr, our mullet man ( Butch, Tony Pone and a few more netter the right way to net ,Now here me these anglers were the best anglers and netter around, the way they taught me was to stay out of the water when big schools are passing, these mullet can see you from a distance and run back out, it took some time for me to get use to this , but in time I found out that the less movement in the water , the closer the mullet will come to your feet, .
Well late this afternoon we took a ride to the pocket, not many anglers were running in the water, and guess what , Bang, these mullet came right in to the wash, the same anglers who were running in the water with out even getting wet nail a few good schools right at his feet, I would love to see this video, me being 20 years younger netting mullet.
The best way to net mullet is to hit the back of the school;, we drove down IBSP even last year hit the same school 12 times, I just gave my last 15 dozen I had frozen a way . As soon as you throw the net in the middle of the school the mullet are gone, when you hit the back of the school, the rest of the mullet has no idea what is going on..
We all have different opinions on things, if we all thought alike this would be a boring world.
Any one can net mullet at any giving time, we have been doing it for years, it’s is so much fun.
Yesterday we say mullet about 10 feet in the wash going by, by the tons , we netted , with no one in site and had a great time .from area 23 – half way down towards the inlet while these anglers were busting their self's running in to water up to their necks, .
15 minutes we stood by a troth, waited, never wet out feet, threw our net as soon as the mullet were passing , filled a 5 gallon bucket and left .
Fishing was a bit slow this afternoon a few bluefish on mullet and lots of croakers after dark Good Night and good Luck to all..
I still would love to have that video. LOL.
