Took a ride to IBSP today, mostly sun bathers with the token pole out. The people fishing for fluke were getting them but all I saw were shorts.
There is a sign at the gate that area 12 to 17 is closed. Light east wind, no flies and the water picked up a little but not rough. Don

Still getting a few nice keeper fluke along the beach and in the inlet. Just be prepared to wear out your arm throwing back shorts.
Blackfish (taug) season opened Friday and from what a few divers told me there are plenty of big ones down there. Should be easy to limit out with one whole fish. Don

Another nice day on the beach. Saw a lot of short fluke with a few keepers in between.
If you're going to the beach to relax take a fluke rig and some squid or Gulp worms, they're around. Don

Nice day to work on your tan but if you want fish you'll really have to work. Lots of grass on the beach but there are some fluke, just have to find them. The water is around 75 degrees.
There have been some real nice fluke in the inlet but take a few extra rigs. Whatever's on the bottom doesn't give them up easy. Your best chance to get them back is to hold the spool and walk towards the current.
There are some small bass and bluefish on the jetty but mostly between the hump and the end. Don

Took the grandkids to IBSP yesterday. Drove from 7 to the inlet. Not many people for such a nice day. A fly here and there but not bothering anybody. With the south and east wind today they should be gone.
Didn't see any fish along the beach but there were small bass on the jetty and a few fluke in the inlet, mostly shorts but every now and then someone gets a nice keeper. All the keepers I saw this week were over 20 inches. Don
